Why I Started CBR Industries: Finish Carpentry Done Right

Who’s behind CBR Industries?

That’s something people don’t really ask, but it matters.

I got into carpentry from being around it and doing hands on work for a long time. Over time I realized I cared more about how things finished than just getting them put together. Anyone can throw something up, but not everyone pays attention to the details that make it look right when it’s done.

I’ve been doing this for years and worked my way through different kinds of jobs. The more I did, the more I leaned into finish work. That’s the part people actually live with. It’s what they see every day, and it’s what makes a space feel complete or not.

Starting my own business came down to wanting control over the work. I didn’t want to rush jobs or cut corners just to move on. I wanted to take the time to do things right and keep communication clear with the homeowner so there’s no guessing on either side.

Most of what I do now is finish carpentry. Trim, accent walls, built ins, detail work. Things that change how a space feels without overdoing it.

What separates my work is attention to detail and staying on the same page throughout the job. A lot of problems in construction don’t come from ability, they come from miscommunication. I check in, I make sure we’re aligned, and I don’t just assume what someone wants.

When I start a project, it’s not just about what it’s going to look like. It’s about how it fits the space and how the homeowner actually uses that space. That part matters just as much as the design.

If someone works with me, they’re getting clean work, clear communication, and something that holds up over time. I’m not trying to be the cheapest option. I’m trying to be the one that gets it done right the first time.

If you’ve got a space you’ve been thinking about changing or adding detail to, I’m always open to talking through it and helping figure out what makes sense.
